Testing Programs (See Regulation)

(1) A program of standardized group testing
shall be maintained as an important source of information to assist
teachers and administrators in providing appropriate instructional
programs for students. The tests shall be administered according
to established testing procedures essential to maintaining their
validity and reliability. The system-wide testing program shall
incorporate standardized tests required by the Georgia Department
of Education.
The testing shall fulfill the following purposes:

be authorized by the Superintendent after review of results to
ensure accuracy and proper communication.

The following regulations shall be observed
in implementing the testing program in the Cobb County Schools:
(1) The system-wide testing committee, composed
of principals, teachers, counselors and selected representatives
from the Divisions of Curriculum and Instructional Services, Operations,
and Special Student Services shall meet as needed to evaluate
and make recommendations regarding the testing program.
(2) Testing committee members are selected
by recommendation of their supervisor or director. New members
are appointed for no more than three (3) year terms.
(3) A faculty member or counselor shall be
appointed to keep inventory of the tests and to act as chairman
of each school's testing program.
(4) Schools may do testing beyond the minimum
program. However, this testing will be done at the expense of
the schools and forms other than the forms used by the county
testing program should be used.
(5) Standardized test scores shall be posted
on the student's permanent record and each school shall be responsible
for offering the opportunity for interpretation of test results
to parents and students.
(6) Each school shall be responsible for
utilizing test results to improve the instructional program.
